Originally from Monterey, CA, Alex’s parents moved their family to Oklahoma City at a young age to be closer to their extended family. She grew up witness to her mother who was dedicated to ensuring that Alex would have access to quality education and the determination to succeed against adversity.

The first in her immediate family to go to college, Alex graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a Minor in Finance. She had ambitions to practice medicine and began working at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center while studying for the MCAT. It was during this time that she discovered her greatest passion was in leveraging her background in science and finance to serve individuals facing social and health inequities. Alex accepted a role as a fundraising director for the American Heart Association, Oklahoma City division, while obtaining her MBA with an emphasis in Health Care from Southern Nazarene University. Following the completion of her MBA, Alex moved from Oklahoma City to San Jose to take on a new opportunity as Senior Development Director for the Silicon Valley American Heart Association. In her time with the division, she merged her strengths in strategy and volunteer engagement to lead the division to record-breaking revenue milestones.

Alex lives in San Francisco with her soon-to-be husband, Andrew. She is a Board Member of the Junior League of San Francisco. She enjoys sports, fashion, and traveling.
