Carla Castro is finishing her third year at Johns Hopkins University where she is majoring in Computer Science. Her interest in Computer Science began in high school when she independently learned her first programming language. After taking her first course in the fall semester of 2013, she became fascinated with the practical challenges she faced that enhanced her creativity and problem solving skills. During the summer of 2014, Carla interned at SurveyMonkey as a Software Engineer in Test. During her internship Carla wrote automation tests in Python to ensure the SurveyMonkey front-end pages performed as designed. Inspired by her experience, Carla aspires to pursue a career in software engineering. In her spare time she enjoys reading, running, and doing outdoor activities with friends and family.
