Jessica Ko is a recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she graduated in three years and received her sociology degree. She grew up in Oakland Chinatown for the majority of her life and she is happy to be back in the Bay Area.
During her time at UCSB, she worked with low- income, first generation students of color where she provided job and college readiness resources. She also did outreach with social justice and students of color organizations on campus. As a result of her work and dedication, she humbly received the University Service Award.
Working at CODE2040 is an opportunity for Jessica to finally give back to the community that has given her everything while furthering her passion of social justice. When Jessica is not being an intersectional social justice warrior, she likes to go Oakland Chinatown to relive her glory days as Princess of Chinatown.
