Commitment to racial equity and inclusion at your company requires more than just good intentions. It requires action. We can help.

PARTNERSHIPS

Covid-19 has changed everything, including how we look at our partnership opportunities. We’ve reimagined our traditional partnership models and opportunities and are excited to open our doors to more companies in more places throughout the country.

The Fellows Program

Our Fellows Program is a summer internship program for Black and Latinx Computer Science majors that runs for nine weeks from mid-June- mid-August. Code2040 partners with a select group of tech companies each year to grow their racial equity lens in the tech industry. Companies who partner with us receive hiring support from our Code2040 staff, participate in anti-racist manager training, and receive crucial data and feedback from both Code2040 and Fellows on their experience working in their company. Most importantly, your partnership will help us achieve our goal of ensuring that by the year 2040 – Black and Latinx people are proportionally represented in the United States’ innovation economy. In addition to the internship experience with top tech companies, Code2040 offers Fellows mentors to help them reach their career goals, a summer of memorable experiences, a community that quickly becomes family, and the tools to become racial equity advocates.

The Timeline

The 2024 Fellows Program Partnership intake cycle is now open!

Eligibility

Code2040 goes through an intentional vetting process via a partnership intake form and in-person conversations to ensure that we are building relationships with companies who are aligned with our values and ready to take action. Eligible partners are companies who:

  1. Are aligned with Code2040’s mission

  2. Understand the primary purpose of the program from Code2040’s perspective is not to help diversify their team but to join a community of learning and growth that is focused on racial equity in the tech industry.

  3. Are open to conversations around feedback and accountability and recognize its importance in creating a company culture supportive of the communities we serve

  4. Do not have a relationship or contract with state-sanctioned institutions that target our communities. This includes, but is not limited to: ICE, law enforcement, jails, or prisons.

  5. Have the capacity to communicate in a thoughtful and timely manner with our team

Process
