Since Code2040 was founded, volunteers have played an integral role in supporting Black and Latinx students through our programming, elevating them to a position with access and opportunity. As we continue to scale and build new programs, we rely on the support of volunteers like you to share your expertise, insight, and guidance with the growing number of students and young professionals in our community.

With your help, we will be able to achieve our goal of providing more opportunities to talented Black and Latinx technologists. Check out our current volunteer positions below:

About the Opportunity

As a mentor, you’ll connect with like-minded tech professionals and build meaningful, long lasting relationships all while advancing racial equity in the tech industry.

Participate in social mixers and workshops designed to support racial justice advocacy. Learn skills including active listening, mentoring, and mutual support practices.

The Pathways

Our Fellows Program is for Black and Latinx college Computer Science students! You’ll support Fellows through 9-months of racial equity advocacy workshops, and navigating internship opportunities. Our Program is nationwide and virtual.

 

Mentorship

  • We’re accepting 25-30 mentors this year

  • Mentor Black and Latinx college students aspiring to be tech professionals

  • All mentors will be paired with 2 Fellows

  • Coding experience required

 

Coaches

  • We’re only accepting 3 coaches this year

  • Create a space to support tech professionals to be holistic and supportive mentors

  • Support 8-10 mentors and participate in the same workshops and mixers as mentors

  • Previous Code2040 mentorship required
