Abi Salazar

Program Associate

Pronouns: She / They

Abi was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, to Mexican immigrant parents. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Black Studies and Chican@ Studies in 2016 and worked as the program coordinator of the UCSB LGBT center. Abi moved to the bay in 2018, becoming the San Francisco Rapid Response Network coordinator, overseeing the 24/7 SF Hotline for communities affected by detention and deportation. Having her mother deported at a young age influenced her commitment to serving marginalized communities. She is excited to use her experience to advance Code2040’s mission of bringing racial equity to the tech industry.

In her free time, Abi loves to cook, go camping, spend time with her chosen family, and is obsessed with watching tv shows with queer representation!
